The Gen 2 is the second evolution of the You Rock MIDI Guitar. It is one of the most affordable on the market opening up a new realm of creativity to guitarists. Many guitarists are keen to experiment with MIDI technology but previous controllers have always favoured keyboard players. The YRG finally provides an affordable, versatile MIDI tool which feels comfortable to guitarists.

The YRG Gen 2 has fast tracking, zero-latency and never needs tuning! Improvements on the Gen 2 model include a new pickup system for improved reliability and consistency along with firmware improvements to complement the new technology. The new Layer and Zone structure allows two sets of sounds to be mapped on the fingerboard per user selection.

The You Rock Guitar was created to give guitarists further access to MIDI technology and capabilities. It makes it quick, easy and familiar for guitarists to lay down tracks quickly and easily. Not just guitar parts either, but anything from piano and bass to strings. Use the talent you already have to play and record any sound on any platform.

Software Compatibility

The You Rock Guitar uses standard MIDI class drivers and delivers MIDI note data via 5pin MIDI or USB 2.0. It can interface with any software that can interpret MIDI including iPad, MAC and PC. The YRG can be used with most recording and tablature software such as Logic, Reason and Ableton to name a few. Connecting the YRG is as easy as plug and play.

Live Performance

The YRG gives the guitarist more options in a live performance. They can easily use their skills to create any number of sounds making them an even greater asset to any musician, producer or band. The You Rock Guitar both looks and sounds the part for live gigs and even DJ sets.

The new Gen2 has seen some improvements for live performance. The Surface Controller allows direct control of MIDI capable software like Live or any other DAW. You can fire off clips or drum triggers while controlling filter envelopes using the joystick or whammy bar. The layer and zone implementation allows two different sounds to be mixed at your control. You can set the two low strings to be a bass sound and the other strings to be an electric piano. Control is at your fingertips!

Play on the Go & Game Controller

Small, light and backpack friendly, the YRG has a detachable neck and can easily travel with you! Play via headphones or alongside an MP3 player or use the built in recorder to remember those licks you come up with on the move. The YRG can also be used as a game controller for Guitar Hero on PC and Frets on Fire

The You Rock Guitar is a valuable practice tool for guitarists. Always in tune, it allows beginners to be motivated and excited to practice. It can be played by very young players without hurting their fingers.
